Purpose

The “Association of External Public Auditors” has as its primary purpose the promotion of the professional, ethical and methodological development of external public-sector auditors in Albania, in accordance with international auditing standards, contributing to greater transparency, accountability and good governance in public institutions; strengthening auditors’ professional capacities in order to provide society with an outstanding auditing service at the level of the standards required by Albania’s integration processes into the European Union; and strengthening the legal status and independence—both individual and institutional—of external auditors from every other branch of the state administration, in harmony with the economic, political and legal development of the Albanian state.
