Objectives

In pursuit of its goals, the activities of the “Association of External Public Auditors” consist of:

• Strengthening the professional capacities of external public auditors.
• Disseminating and promoting international standards such as those of INTOSAI, IFAC and IDI.
• Strengthening ethics and integrity in auditing.
• Organising training sessions, conferences and academic and professional roundtables focused on the sound functioning, administration and improvement of the status and careers of external public auditors.
• Creating cooperation networks among external public-sector auditors and academics; representing auditors in national and international organisations; and preparing studies, analyses and professional recommendations.
• Undertaking initiatives to refer matters for resolution to the institutions responsible for administering the audit service and developing auditors’ careers.
• Supporting and protecting the standing, rights and interests of external public-sector auditors, including advocacy before judicial bodies and the Constitutional Court where the status of external public auditors is infringed.
• In accordance with its purpose and scope of activity, the Association provides professional expertise to public institutions and other interested entities in the Republic of Albania, as well as to organisations and associations. Public institutions and other entities may express interest in receiving such expertise through official requests addressed to the Association, in accordance with its established procedures and rules.
